The integration process to convert data started in early December 2010 and Syrinx was then installed in early January 2011. With just two days of onsite training, the Shipseys team went live with the system. The importation to the accounts system was delayed a month – purely to coincide with financial year-end – but once the green light was given, the Higher Concept team was ready with more clear guidance and support.
As Carol reports, Syrinx is already paying dividends: “The system feels like a comfortable old friend who has been around for years. It’s so much easier to train new staff to understand the complexities of what we do. They can now generate quotes and orders after just a few hours training, instead of having to trawl through endless paper pricelists trying to find equipment and costs. All staff have a much better understanding of how to build a quote/order, ensuring all key components are accounted for with the ability to establish stock availability in an instant. In short, compared to the old manual systems, it’s BRILLIANT.”
